Company Description

The Mission of the Orcas Animal Protection Society is to promote the humane care of animals by:

1. operating an animal shelter

2. educating the public about responsible pet care

3. facilitating the adoption of unwanted dogs and cats into loving homes

4. providing spay/neuter services to reduce the number of homeless dogs and cats.

Services Provided

* Accepting stray animals or those relinquished by an owner

* Offering cats and dogs for adoption

* Training youth and adult volunteers for animal care tasks

* Scanning of found animals for microchip identification

* Feral cat testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia, as well as spaying or neutering before returning to their home territory

* Offering lower cost spays and neuters.

Services Not Provided

* Accepting any wild animals

* Accepting gravely injured or obviously sick stray animals

* Boarding owned animals

* Euthanizing animals, except if in the best interest of the animal.
